Today, in BASIS SoftExpo 2020, I helped to organize a Session named ‘Growing Bangladeshi Startup Scene’, where I presented the Keynote with the title – ‘State of Startup: Bangladesh 2020‘. I feel this was a very important topic, where I bluntly presented some real data, that shows potential & concern at the same time! So, would love to share the presentation with everybody else as well!
Last December I was invited by GrameenPhoneWhiteboard to present a keynote at the FundStarter Event about my Investment Experience in Bangladeshi Tech Startups. It was a closed-door event, and they allowed me to share my experience freely. It was a very blunt presentation, where I spoke from my experience why I invest, what works and what are the main reason startup fails here.
Though it's kind of early, but I'm kind of certain Pathao is on track to become a Unicorn (Startup to reach $1 Billion valuations) in next 2-5 years, and possibly the first one from Bangladesh, and the sweet part it's entirely homegrown, and by serving just Bangladesh!
If somebody is really pissed at his Startup, he should take a break from his Entrepreneurial career, and get a job. This career choice “Entrepreneurship” is surely over-rated and not for everyone. Most people are good at following others' lead or just be responsible for a specific task, instead of taking all the headache. They are good that way. Too much pressure from the Startup will be counter-productive for them.M Asif Rahman
